Hare Rama Hare Krishna
It is said that Hare Rama Hare Krishna is the mantra for Kali Yuga, the present age, the Age of Iron, in which almost every aspect of righteous order is disrupted. When we chant Hare Rama Hare Krishna we receive divine protection for ourselves, and others for whom we chant receive protection as well.
This rich chant invokes both Lord Rama, the perfect model of devotion to dharma, righteous action, and Lord Krishna, the embodiment of God's protection and bhakti, divine love.
Swami Muktananda loved this chant, and during his early years as a seeker he would hold dancing chants in which devotees would gather to chant all day and all night the divine names of Rama and Krishna.
This version of the chant is in the tender Indian raga Jhinjhoti which evokes a mood of joy and longing.
The chant was recorded with Swami Chidvilasananda, who is also knows as Guurumayi, at the Shree Muktananda Ashram, South Fallsburg, New York.
