The publications of GSI under the series Miscellaneous Publication 30 bring out concise information on the geology and mineral resources of the states of India. The present volume, Part VIIIB of the series, pertains to the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh as a result of the separation of Telangana State from the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh State on 2nd. June 2014. This volume on Geology and mineral resources of Andhra Pradesh Part VIII B (2nd. Edition) is a revised and updated version of the earlier edition published in 2015 of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. Geo-science has evolved enormously and a lot of data has been accrued in the last eight years through advanced exploration, mapping and other geoscientific work, which have been recompiled in this volume, and presented as an updated version of the geology of Andhra Pradesh (from Archean to Quaternary) including 10 schist belts, 20 nos. mineral belts, alongwith a summarised geological history and tectonic evolution of the different geological provinces of the state.
