Dr. K.C. Agrawal had been in college education as teacher of Botany from 1964 to 1995 and then he served the M.D.S. University, Ajmer as Director Research till his retirement from there on 31st August, 2000. His profound interest in environmental sciences led him to present this monumental treatise to readers for providing balanced and up-to-date information on the subject. As a researcher and author he has scores of research papers and fifteen books including this one to his credit. Other important contributions of the autor in the area of the environment are-Environmental Pollution, Environmental Biotechnology, Global Biodiversity, Wildlife of India, Environmental Laws, etc. He had also been a course writer for Human Environment for IGNOU, New Delhi.
