Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Spectral Signature Applications

S Aravindan (Editor) S Rajendran (Editor) T Jeyavel Rajakumar (Editor) R Sivakumar (Editor) Siuli Sarkar (Author) K R Murali Mohan (Editor)
Synopsis Hyperspectral imaging is an emerging modern technique in remote sensing that expands and improves capability of multispectral image analysis. It takes advantage of hundreds of continuous spectral channels to uncover materials that usually cannot be resolved by multispectral sensors. This book is a collection of research papers of Indian scientists working in the field of hyperspectral remote sensing and spectral signature applications. This has been organized in a way that all the chapters are logically connected and can be referred back and forth one another for more details. The title of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Spectral Signature Applications is used to reflect its focus on spectral techniques, i.e. non-literal techniques that are especially designed and developed for hyperspectral imagery rather than multispectral imagery. This book covers the following themes. Hyperspectral remote sensing concept and recent development. Spectral reflectance measurement. Hyperspectral signature and its applications to rock, mineral, snow, crop, vegetation, urban, coastal and environmental resources. Hyperspectral signature database and data mining. Mineral resources exploration using modern hyperspectral tools. Spectroscopy and FTIR. Hyperspectral tools application for multispectral image analysis. Geostatistal analysis. Geographical Information System (GIS).
