Synopsis Tourism is the sunrise industry of the present century. Today tourism is the world’s fastest growing industry. This industry provides both monetary gains and social benefits. Side by side with the country’s staggering topographical variations facet of Indian culture is observed in the colourful tribal lifestyles, of the Jharkhand state.

About the authors

G D Singhal

Dr. G.D. Singhal (b.1942) did his M.A. (Geography) in 1965 and was awardewd Ph.D. degree in 1972 from Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya. He has produced more than two dozen Ph.D. and twenty articles are published. Now, he is actively engaged in writing books. He started his teaching career as a Lecturer in Geography drom 1966, promoted to the post of Reader in 1970 and to the post of a University Professor in 1985.

Awadh Tiwary

Dr. Awadh Tiwary (b. 1955) completed his Master’s degree in 1976 and did his Ph.D. in 1988 from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. He started his teaching career from 1981. He produced nine Ph.D. and more than a dozen of published articles are to his credit.

Meera Agrawal

Dr, Meera Agrawal (b. 1973) did her M.A. (A.I.A.S.) from Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya in 1992. She got Doctorate degree from the same university in 1998, by completing extensive research work on the topic, “Tourism of Buddhist Shrines in Bihar”. A number of research articles are to her credit.
