Synopsis This book is all about India, but with a big difference. What makes it different What makes it different from hundred of titles presently flooding book shops is that it focuses on information which is eighter lesser known or unknown. How many of us shall know- why is India called ‘India’ or by what other names was she known in ancient days? Will it not surprise you, if told that Mumtaz Mahal, the soul of the Taj’, died while delivering her 14th child and that she did not die at Agra but, at Burhanpur in South India and that her dead body was brought to Agra after a lapse of six months for final burial. It will be equally fascinating to learn that Nur Jahan, the Persian beauty, was a widow with a daughter, when Jahagir married her. Do you know that the ashes of Nathiu Ram Godse, the assaissn of Mahatma Gandhi, are still Preserved as per hnis last wish, at his brother’s house in Pune awaiting the day when India will once again be an Akhanda Bharat. Will you believe if some one tells you that no Company by the name East India Company was ever granted the Queen’s Charter in 1600 A.D. The real name of the Company was “United Company of Marchants of London Trading into the East Indies” and that “East India Company” was just its nickname. May we tell you that the Qutab Minar suffered damage twice by the earthquake and once by lightening. Would you like to see how did the injured Qutab Minar looks like. We have an old painting dating 1795 A.D. to show the injured face of the Minar.
