Synopsis In Fact, Sufism gave meaning and mission to the religious feelings and beliefs of a wide cross-section of society, both in India ad is many parts of the Islamic World. Many orders of Sufis – prominent and less known – flourished in India. In the present work in two volumes, Sufism in India is thoroughly portrayed. The authentic information gathered in volume one revolve around the topics namely – introduction, reflection on early Sufism, Suhrawardiyya and Firdawsiyya silsilas. Volume second comprising of two parts consists of the total seventeen chapters. Part first of which concentrates on Sufism in Punjab while the second part highlights Sufism in South India.
