About the author

Sudip Chakraborty

Sudip Chakraborty is presently Reader in Economics at Ananda Chandra College, Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. He had completed the International Interdisciplinary Course on Child Rights, organised by Childrenâ€™s Rights Centre at the University of Ghent in Belgium. He has recently finished an international research project, â€˜Working Children Around the Worldâ€™, under the auspices of IREWOC at the University of Amsterdam. He had earlier published his book, Rural Poverty and IRDP, besides several publications of research papers. He is at the moment working on a UGC research project: â€˜Violation of Child Rights: Educational Deprivation of Tribal Girls;. In the year 2005, he had presented his research paper on child labour at the International Conference organised by the University of Oslo in Norway.
