Synopsis The emerging history of women fertility is a story of disaster and denial-disaster forseen, but disaster psychologically denied in our innermost being. How can one believe in something particularly an unpleasant something that has never happened before. It has been widely assumed that women fertility is one of the root causes of the growing population in the present day world. The central purpose of this book is to present and assess the role of socio-economic factors on women fertility differentials in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This book is divided into three parts namely, theory, application and conclusion. The first part constitute the theoretical base of the work. The second part which is the core of this book discusses the regional dimension of fertility differentials, social and economic factors and their association. The latter point also incorporates test of simple linear correlation between fertility and socio-economic factors and factor analysis. The third part embodies outcome of this book in the form of general conclusion. It serves as an epilogue to this book and is followed by a classified bibliography.
