                                        Part IV of Volume III provides keys for 20 subfamilies of braconids covering 1700 species belonging to 165 genera: 123 species have been described for the first time. Besides species reported for the European part of the USSR, the Keys..... includes species known from Western Europe, Kazakhstan, Soviet Central Asia and the Caucasus. For all the species, information is provided on their geographic distribution, host-plants (if available) and synonymy. The introduction briefly outlines the morphology, biology, general features of geographic distribution and economic significance of braconids.  The book is the first compendium since the last century on the Palearctic braconids, and may be used for their identification throughout the USSR and as a reference book.
