Modernity and Muslim Religious Elite: With Special Reference to Juma Sermon
The new social crises are bringing the religion back into fore front of human life. One with the emergence and growth of scientific knowledge the importance of religion relatively had gone down. With the coming back of religion the role of religious elite has become important and influential which was pushed aside earlier into the domain of religious ceremonies only. In this milieu it became worthy to get familiarity with the thinking of religious elite of Muslims. To get the familiarity with the thinking of religious elite of Muslims Juma sermons were considered good tool to gather the ideas and analyse them. In the present work twelve sermons of six different Islamic religious movements were recorded and their analysis has been presented.
