Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Buddhism: (In 2 Vols.)

Samir Nath (Author)
Synopsis This splendid work on the religion and philosophy of Buddhism is the result of a great toil. This book subjectively and objectively selects the topics, phrases, idioms, history, development, sects, philosophy and many other untouched aspects of Buddhism, and in sharp, succinct and lucidly explains them, at many a place themes are elaborately discussed. Buddhism originated in India, and later spread itself in Central Asia, Southeast Asia, China and Far East Asia. However, due to some inherent weaknesses and revival of Hinduism, and subsequent onlsaught of Islam on its universities like Nalanda, Odantapuri and Vikramshila, it lost its presence in a great way. It survived and flourished in Tibet, Ceylon, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia and some other few countries.
