About the authors

C.M. Srivastava

C.M. Srivastava received his M.Sc. Degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University and Ph.D. Degree from Imperial College, London. He is Emeritus Professor, Department of Physics and retired Head of Materials Science Center and Advanced Center for Research in Electronics at IIT Bombay. He is Fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian National Academy of Sciences, Maharashtra Academy of Sciences and Life Member of IEEE.

C. Srinivasan

C. Srinivasan received his M.Sc. Degree in Physics with a Gold Medal from Mysore University and Ph.D. Degree from Moscow State University. He has served as Professor of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay for several years. He was associated with the Materials Science Centre and Advanced Center for Research in Electronics as also with Materials Science courses for M.Tech students for several years before his retirement in 1986.
