Child Education and Economic Reforms

Saroj . (Author) S P Sharma (Author)
Synopsis

Childhood education, is the key to the future of the emerging nations. Without childhood education, modernization cannot progress beyond imitation and duplication, the individual can rarely improve the quality of his/her life, he/she cannot contribute his full potential to the task of nation-building. Rapid expansion of educational system at all levels, compounded by rapid policy changes and the shrinking economy have constituted constraints educational development in most countries. Hence, a series of disparities now exist in the educational system.

The failure of any educational system to fulfil the objectives for which it was established is often the precondition for calls for its reform. In order for people to feel at any particular moment in time the need to change its educational system, it is necessary that new ides and needs have emerged in which the former system is no longer adequate. Such new ideas and needs can be internally induced, arising from within the educational system itself of they can be induced by external forces including economic, political, cultural factors from within the larger society.

This book narrates the status and trends of child education in the context of global economic reforms. It will be an immensely useful reference tool for students, teachers, educational planners, policy makers, educational administrators and research scholars.
