Synopsis This work is intended to study the Dramatic Significance of Tragic Hero in Shakespeare. Detailed analysis of Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear and Othello have been chosen wherein the dramatic significance and its implications have deeply rooted and involved. The dramatic significance of hero in Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello and King Lear is thought provoking and keeps a distinct identity in the dramatic world. Each hero of Shakespeare is a symbolic one to society. The dashing endeavour of hero in each tragedy of Shakespeare is a matter of great dramatic significance. The purpose of this work is therefore to evaluate the dramatic significance and importance of major tragedies of Shakespeare which undoubtedly stimulates intellectual and academic debate in English literature.
