The present anthology Contemporary Indian Writing in English : A Critical Survey consists of 20 critical papers covering Chaman Nahal, Kamala Das, Jhumpha Lahari, Bharti Mukherjee, Imtiaz Dharker, Arvind Adiga, Mahesh Dattani, Arun Joshi, V.S., Naipaul, Namita Gokhale, Shashi Deshpandey, Jayant Mahapatra in which the focus is mainly on the changing trends in contemporary literature. The book, which is novel in content and compilation and holistic in approach, will be an essential reading for teachers, students and researchers in Indian writing in English.
