Synopsis The Middle East countries have focused on increasing the protection of their countries against a variety of internal and external threats. They have evaluated the gaps in current strategy and made critical decisions on the technology available to enhance counter-terrorism strategies, border control and critical infrastructure protection. This book examines the existing status of national security system and opening up the modernisation of security to new dimension. The book first examines the broad features of the Middle East region that have a bearing on security and then proceed to examine the traditional and non-traditional dimensions of security. Further it explains each country’s security challenges and its implications in country’s defence policy and armed force structure and administration.
