Abdulrahim P Vijapur

Abdulrahim P. Vijapur is Professor of Political Sciences at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has been the Director (1996-1999), Centre for Federal Studies, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, and Professor, Ford Foundation Endowed Chair in Dalit Studies, Academy of Third World Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (2005-2007).

Prof. Vijapur received M.A. in Political Science from Karnatak University, M.phil. and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and LL.M. in (in International Human Rights Law) from the University of Essex,U.K. He was the 21th Century Trust (London) Fellow in 1992. He was Fellow-designate, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, for the year 1992-93.

He has authored and edited five books and has published around 50 research papers in refereed national and international journals. Besides, he has also contributed many chapters to edited books. His publications cover fields such as Dalit Studies, Human Rights and the United Nations, Minority Rights, Human Rights issues in Islam, India and the Third World, and the Federal Nation Building.
