The Immortal Buddha's Path to Liberation: A Comparative Introduction

B.K. Narayan (Author) Rajeev Sawhney (Author)
Synopsis All religions are within bounds as long as they are used to glorify human divinity. These are disastrous if used to promote hatred and conflict among mankind. The religion of humanity is above everything. Man came first and then the religions. Religion was made for the man and not the man for religion. The Man-God Buddha’s unprecedented sacrifice and saga was to show the part of liberation to the suffering humanity. He avoided doctrinaire discussions and intellectual sophistication that failed to provide a way out of sufferings and instead pointed to the over-riding need for the purity of intentions in ethical and moral behaviour. In answering questions, the Buddha made sure that the answer did not put off the questioner or make him depart from moral behaviour. Rightful living or Dharma was above all. The Blessed One put first things first in the scale of priorities in man’s search for liberation so that he would not waste the limited span of life at his disposal, in futile pursuits.
