Mahatma Gandhi: Man of the Millennium

Ramjee Singh (Author)
Synopsis The kingdoms and empires rolled down beneath the wheals of history but Indian culture has survived the ravages of time. The great Roman empire, the ancient city of Greece, the pyramids of Egypt and many places of antiquity in China remind us of the greatness of the respective world civilization and culture. The greatness of Indian culture however does not lie in the grandeur and splendor of palaces and courts but in the hermitages of saints and sages who silently brood over the mysteries of universe and human life. The Indian spirituality is an affirmation of eternal moral order an intuitive vision of the ultimate reality. There has been unbroken continuity regarding the basic truth of ultimate reality from the time of the Vedas up to Vivekanand and Gandhi. There is a continuity found in the ancient, the medinal and the modern age.

Mahatma Gandhin is a product of the spiritual heritage of Indian culture. He has attempted to spiritualize politics moralise ethics and humanize the academics. There is no water light compartment between various disciplines, viz, Philosophy, Economics and Politics. This book seeks to explain Indian culture from the Gandhian Stand Point.
