About the author

Arun Ghosh

Dr. Arun Ghosh obtained Masterâ€™s degree in Comparative Philology (Linguistics) and Ph.D. from Calcutta University. He worked as a Fellow at Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore and studied Socio-linguistics at Reading University, UK and University of Michigan, USA. He joined Netaji Institute for Asian Studies, Calcutta, and is currently the Assistant Professor of Ethno-linguistics there. Dr. Ghosh has done an extensive field work among various Munda groups of Bihar, West Bengal, and Orissa and published numerous articles on their socio-cultural and socio-linguistic behaviour. He has authored Bibliotheca Austroasiatica and Santali: Approaching Word Grammar, and co-edited Ethno-nationalism: Indian Experience.
