Synopsis
Yoga and meditation have been accepted as the nerve of Indian Culture. From time immemorial Yoga has been a way of life of people. There are several personal experiences and empirical studies which give concrete evidence of positive impact of Yoga and meditation on varied fields of life. Super Learning is a technique of applying Yoga and meditation in different fields. It is developed by Georgi Lozanov, a Bulgarian doctor by adding some principles of Bulgarian Yogic principles with that of Indian Raja Yoga. This book is the result of an attempt to use Super Learning Technique in the field of education in India. Here, the author, in his post-doctoral research, has experimentally proved that Super Learning can be utilized in our Indian classrooms within the framework of the school time table and can result in developing creative thinking and academic achievement of students.
First chapter discusses the concept of Super Learning, its multidimensional approach, instructional strategy, comparison with Yoga and meditation, a retrospection on use of Super Learning in Indian school and issues relating to it. Chapter two describes studies conducted in India and abroad on Super Learning, Yoga and meditation with relation to intelligence, creative thinking academic achievement and sex. Chapter three describes about objective of the study where as chapter four speaks about design, variable, sample, tools used in the study. It also describes about the intervention strategy, i.e., Super Learning Technique of Teaching History. The fifth chapter speaks about procedural description and sixth chapter gives findings based on the analysis of data. The seventh chapter summarizes the study and recommended steps for effective use of Super Learning. The analysis of data justified the use of Super Learning in developing creative thinking and academic achievement of students. The author suggested its wider use and replications for more effective result.
