Synopsis This book is a critical study of the Indian Woman as Tagore has seen her.  Tagore was not a social reformer in the limited sense of the term but an artist who depicted woman very aesthetically with feminine delicacy.   Here the book shows the Indian women with all her facets and tries to understand Tagore’s concept of woman.  The emphasis is on artistic revealation of women and her all problems, without any tint of activism in feminism.  The toll, “art lies in-concealing art” has been employed even for the cause of woman.  This book is an artistic treatise on and about Woman as it would have been in the eyes of Tagore.  No style of direct preacher or Kathakar is even touched here and yet nothing is left what was to be told about the Tagorian woman.  The book would be of an immense help those who want to study Indian woman without any bias and presumption.
