The Magic Makers: Folk and Tribal Arts: Based on the collection of Arpana Fine Arts Museum

P.C. Jain (Author)
Synopsis 'The Magic Makers', not a mere catalogue, delves deep into each artifact and explores its underlying essence, metaphoric meaning, spiritual connotation, and the message that it reveals. It is truly an aesthetic tool that leads the mind deep into an object and once the two begin conversing withdraws. Detailed captions encompassing not mere technical data but also each object's soul apart, 'The Magic Makers' comprises well researched introductory notes, analyzing each aspect of folk art, seeking to classify them into various groups and discovering each group's distinctive character, aesthetic merit, iconographic models and perception of life, something rarely seen in books on folk art, and in catalogues, perhaps never.
