Narendra Bhandari (Author)
Synopsis Fifty years of direct exploration of the Moon has taught us that Moon is one of the most mysterious objects in the solar system. The more we learn about it, scientifically more enigmatic it becomes. To unravel this mystery several missions for direct exploration of the Moon are underway by many countries. This series of missions includes India’s Chandrayaan-1 mission, which is all set for launch soon and will be followed by Chandrayan-2 in a few years. This book presents, in simple language, the motivation for this mission to Moon in the framework of the unresolved problems in lunar science. Meant mainly for the inquisitive students, the subject is dealt with a view to highlight the science aspects and in this respect it is different from the information available in other publications or on the web.
