Law grows with words--the words that have secret power, spirit and ethical solemnity. Judiciary unfolds them in relevance to the need of the day to keep the society in order. Industry being the backbone and indicator of growth, the law pertaining to it has to be interpreted in sprit rather than words. The author tried to find out the trend of judiciary, which strengthen the fibre of integrity in national development.This book encompasses the Supreme Court decisions from 1950 to 2004 on 'industry' and 'industrial disputes' defined under section 2(j) and 2(k) of industrial disputes act, 1947.The main principles of industrial jurisprudence such as capital labour relationship and social justice have been imbibed by the legislation.
