G.K. Singh (Author) Ashutosh Pandey (Author) Bhoopal Singh (Author)
Synopsis Urbanization and globalization is an unavoidable reality in the present world. Most of the countries have accepted it either willingly or unwillingly. Divergent views for and against urbanization and globalization have been expressed. There are many questions which are raised at different platforms. Some of these are: What is urbanization and globalization? What are the fundamental factors involved in urbanization and globalization? Who wants urbanization and globalization? How does urbanization and globalization affect different people? Whether globalization is beneficial for developing nations? The Answer to some of these questions, to some extent, can be found in the articles in this volume written by eminent scholars. An attempt has been made to discuss urbanization and globalization, in general, and its impact on people, society and state, in particular. This book also examines various issues concerning poverty, industrialization, indigenous people, slum society, economic development, environment protection, decline of Gandhian values, good governance, human rights and job opportunities for women etc.
