Synopsis The songs of the tribals were unheard by the sophisticated Brothern for Aeons. Many attempts were made all over the world from anthropological, sociological perspectives. Now an humble attempt is made to translate tribal of Visakhapatnam District Oratures to English language. This modest documentation might facilitate future linguistic, cultural scholars to pursue their further research in aforesaid arena. The songs are collected from Araku and Padaree Revenue divisions of Visakhapatnam District area is about 125 kms.  (One-way) from Visakhapatnam. The area is situated at a high altitude of about 3100 feet MSL. These regions are full of dense forest with rich scenic beauty, coffee plantations form panoramic views of fascinating hills and valleys.

S. Prasanna Sree

Dr. S Prasanna Sree is an Associate, Professor, in the Department of English, Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam. Earlier she was at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupathi as Associate Professor, in the department of English (1987-2000). She has co-authored a book titled English for Career Development as a part of her team work project under ODA's Sponsorship with the University of Manchester, U.K. She is a scholar, critic and a poet. Her poetic career began with the publication of her first volume of poems in 1990 under the title Time's Test and Other Poems. Her second volume was brought out in 1992 with the title Ripples on Still Water, Misty Magma another collection of poems in 1999. Her latest collection of poems is entitled as Whispers Within, published in 2002. She has participated and presented papers in various National and International seminars and has published articles in the field of Indian Writing in English, Canadian Literature, Black Literature, Common wealth Literature. She is an active member in various National and International academic, cultural, social organizations.
