About the author

Barun Kumar Sahu

Born on 21 April 1969, in Asansol, West Bengal, Barun Kumar Sahu hails originally from Giridih (Jharkhand). A Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur (1990), the author is an IAS officer of the 1992 batch, Manipur-Tripura cadre. He has held several senior positions under the governments of Tripura and Jharkhand. He has rich experience of public policy formulation and administration. Mr Sahu was one of the contributors to the book Skills for Effective Administrators ,edited by VK Agnihotri (1995). His English rendition of one hundred Tripuri tribal folk songs was published as Atop Jhum Hills (1999). He writes and contributes articles on current affairs and news analysis as a hobby.
