A. Smith - Best to know why Nepal is Poor Jan, 01, 1970

This book gives very good idea about why Nepalese people are poor although country is not resource poor. Planning on the adhoc basis, misutilization of resources and governance problem are some indicated by book. There is huge flow of foreign aid in Nepal but it is not able to bring desirable outcome. Book says it is not fault of foreign aid but bad governance. However authors are a bit critical for conditionality associated aid. To sum up this book dont give any new theories about foreign aid but give good idea to understand Nepal and her economy.
