Trees of India

Pippa Mukherjee (Author)
Synopsis This beautiful book introduces us to the fascinating world of trees. Each double page spread describes the forms, habits, and quirks of more than forty trees commonly found in India, using colour illustrations and photographs of the trees and their flowers, fruits, and seeds. In the process are revealed many interesting facts:- Fig wasps grow inside figs. The British used the roots of the Drumstick tree as an alternative to horseradish in India. Trees that are cared for grow up stronger and taller than trees growing in wastelands.  With a glossary, an index of botanical names, and a discussion on the uses of each tree, Trees of India is the definitive introduction to everything you wanted to know about trees commonly found in India.Young readers, as well as parents, teachers, and nature enthusiasts, will find this book informative and absorbing.
