About the author

Gulab Sen

Gulab Sen grew up in a village in the Mandi-Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Born to a Hindu Kshatreya family on the farm, went to a local school and then to the university at Shimla, did M.A. in Political Science and resisted the temptation of going for further studies of law. Since then, continued with the life on the farm and around and never lost touch of the Indian problems and politics like all of us. the author was in active politics for sometime before and during the emergency of 1975 but left active politics soon after the general elections of 1977 because he felt that the peaceful revolution in 1977 was unfortunately led by uncommitted directionless old people whose petty quarrels brought back Indira Gandhi. So the author found it futile to remain in politics and watch helplessly the misdeeds of the so-called leaders. He has also composed some poetry called Kavitaen Aur Bhi Hain.
