The yield potential of crops differ considerably and the recent technological advances in crop cultivation demand judicious nutrient management and to avoid yield losses arising due to nutritional deficiencies. With an aim to project the value of mineral nutrition and its management the book chapters are designed to provide an in depth information on the fundamental aspects of crop nutrition; mineral nutrients, their availability, roles and deficiency disorders. Further the individual chapters are devoted to provide information on basic and applied aspects to understand from the practical stand point. The introductory chapter enlightens the need to understand the scope of the book indicating the importance of nutrient management, soil and foliar fertilization and crop losses due to nutrient deficiencies which result in vast differences in yielding potential and yield. The other chapters provide vast information on nutrient uptake processes, nutrient availability role of nutrients, critical levels, sampling tissue analysis and diagnosis by visual means in important agricultural and horticultural crops. Visual diagnosis is explained in detail so that students, extension workers, field staff will be benefited.
