About the author

B. Jensen

B. Jensen is an associate research fellow of anthropology of the University of California, Berkeley. He studies change in a variety of contexts, with special emphasis on nutritional anthropology, gender/sexuality and health in the Americas, especially Mexico and among Latinos in the United States.  In Mexico City, he has done research on changing male identities and practices with respect to fathering, sexuality, housework, alcohol, violence, and the cultural history of machismo.  He also has done research on nutritional and reproductive health through ethnographic fieldwork among indigenous midwives, doctors, and healers.
