The book deals with the relationship between the state, labour and development in the contemporary India as of now at the first decade of the Twenty First Century in the era of liberalization, privatisation and globalisation. It contains as many as 22 articles exploring the theme. The articles are written by 20 committed and dedicated labour economists from India, one from Australia and one from Nepal. The papers deal with both theoretical and empirical issues, general issues as well as specific issues and case studies.
