Synopsis The literary culture of the Middle Ages was far more international than national and was divided more by lines of class and audience than by language. Latin was the Church language and of learning. French became the dominant language of secular European Literary Culture after Eleventh Century. But English has its position as ever as a legendary. In this period there was great diversity of medieval cultures and the social, political, religious, economic and technological changes also took place. By the modern scholars this period sometimes is referred as "Cathedralism". This book provides a brief overview of such diversities and development of the language. Literary works, are and music all are included in its discussion.
