Synopsis It covers almost all important aspects relating to technical, commercial, financial, economic and management appraisal of projects. Various check-lists have been given at appropriate places to judge viability of a project. A case study has been given to demonstrate the methods of preparing financial projections and calculating ratios, break-even point, internal rate of return, cost of capital and domestic resources cost. This can be used as a specimen for similar calculations to be done while appraising the proposals for financial assistance. In addition to covering all aspects of appraisal, separate chapters have been devoted to explain various techniques of supervision and follow-up, rehabilitation of sick units and special features of financing small scale industries.
