This section further describes some quality tourism studies in the field of Sustainable Tourism development and Eco-tourism, whereas third section of this book is on 'Cultural and heritage Tourism'. Fourth section 'Tourism education and Human resource development for Tourism' highlights the importance of formal education in service sector. This section is related with the present status of Human resource Development and briefly describes the key issues related with tourism education in India.

About the authors

S P Bansal

Dr. S.P. Bansal is an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Institute of Vocational Studies, Master of Tourism Administration, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.  He specializes in the field of tourism.  He has to his credit about 50 published research papers and seven books, out of which thee books are on tourism.  He has completed six major research projects on tourism mainly on thematic areas like Sustainable tourism development, Ecotouirism, and the Impact evaluation of tourism development.  He is the Chief Editor of Tourism Development Journal, an international tourism research journal.  He has guide eight scholars at Doctorate level.  He has represented India and Himachal University in many international tourism gatherings/ conventions/seminars at France, UK, USA and Switzerland.  He is a member of Tourism, Govt. of India; NCERT, etc.  He also holds position of Secretary, All India Tourism Teacher’s Association (AITTA).  Presently he is teaching MTA and MBA students and devoting himself to a continuing I n-depth analysis of Indian tourism Industry.

Dr. Prashant Kumar Gautam is a lecturer in the Institute of Vocational Studies, Master of Tourism Administration, H.P. University, Shimla.  He is involved in various tourism research activites and management of events.  His area of specialization is Tourism and the Environment.  He is the Managing Editor of Tourism Development Journal.  He is the Managing Editor of Tourism Development Journal.  He is also involved in conducting various courses for the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.

Mrs. Sushama Rewal Chugh is Lecturer in the same institute. She obtained MTA from HP University. She has completed her Ph.D. on "Marketing of Tourism". Her area of specialization is 'Tourism Marketing'.

Sonia Khan

Ms. Sonia Khan is Lecturer in the same institute. She has completed her Ph.D. on “Gender Issues in Tourism Decision making”. She has obtained her MTA from HP University, Master in International Leisure Studies (MILS) from Holland. She is Managing Editor of “Tourism development Journal”.
