Synopsis With the 14th SAARC Summit scheduled to take place on April 3-4, 2007, in New Delhi, Attention has once again been focused on SAARC, its trajectory of growth and also its potentials and pitfalls. About the authors

Iqbal Ahmed Saradgi

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Saradgi is an educationist, eminent politician and presently Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha). His special interests are international political affairs, especially SAARC, World Peace and Sustainable Development. He has been listed in many bibliographies and has been a member of several Parliamentary Committees. Presently he is Chairman, Haj Committee of India and Chairman, JPC, constituted to examine the constitutional and Legal position relating to Office of Profit. Widely traveled in many parts of world, Mr. Saradgi represented India in the 61^st Session of the UN General Assembly and made presentation on issues dealing with international affairs. He is also Working President of Foundation for Peace and Sustainable Development.

S.K. Sahni

Dr. S.K. Sahni is an academic, an author and a social activist. After seeking voluntary retirement from the University of Delhi, he is presently Executive Director, Foundation for Peace and Sustainable Development and Chief Editor Peace and Development Digest. He has been Director (Public Nominee), Delhi Stock Exchange and Managing Director of a Subsidiary of a US-based software Development Company, where he was honoured for outstanding services. He is widely traveled and has participated in UN Conferences at Vienna, Geneva and New York.

R.N. Srivastava

Dr.R.N. Srivastava is working as Associate Professor in Economics in the Department of Commerce, S.S.N. College, Delhi University. He is Hony. Director of Foundation for Peace and Sustainable Development (FPSD), and NGO dedicated to highlighting and working for issues connected with peace, economic growth and sustainable development.

Dr. Srivastava is Hony. Editor of Peace and Development Digest, a bi-annual research journal published by FPSD. He has also edited many full-length publications on SAARC issues which include Towards South Asian Economic Integration and Unity, SAARC-The Road Ahead and SAARC-Socio-Economic Transformation. Widely travelled, he has participated in many national and international seminars/conferences highlighting issues related with peace and sustainable development. He has been an Indian delegate at the deliberations of UN Commission on Human Rights held at Geneva.
