About the author

Narendar Singh

Col. (Dr.) Narendar Singh is known as the NBCW man in the defence forces.  Alumni from National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, US Army Chemical School, Fort McClellan (Alabama); he has held large number of coveted appointments in his career.  He did his doctorate from Devi Ahilya Bai Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore.  He was with core group that presented cases to Task Force established by Government of India in pursuance of Recommendation by Kargil Review Committee on Intelligence, Security of Borders and Internal Security.  These now form part of Recommendations by the Group of Ministers.  He contributed to the development of Disaster Management Concept during its infancy stage, which was later adopted as base for working by Ministry of Homer Affairs.  He also put up recommendations against narco terrorism.  A prolific writer, he has more than thirty articles published, in various national and international journals.  Presently, he is Professor of Human Resource Management with the Invertis Institute of Management Studies, Bareilly.

Conduct of war is written by an Indian Army officer who has to his credit many firsts. The book has been written in generic, simple and lucid English. There are four chapters each with distinctive objective 1. First is the national requirements of war which often have been neglected in India. 2. The second chapter deals with Strategy and after discussing siome forms have highlighted the importance of air and Navy. Author is emphatic about Naval devlopment and its key role. 3. Cahpter deals with operational art ans aspect easily neglected and can been seen in Iraq/ 4. tactics. - Authior has said future belongs to an individual who is skilled and able to carry out and hold humanity as hostage. Thwe princioples have been sumarized. There are repetitions but that are to lay emphasis.
