About the author

B.C. Nandi

An M.Sc., Ph.D. of North Bengal University, and D.Sc. of Burdman University, Dr. B.C. Nandi started his research career on Indian Sarcophagidae in the year 1973 as a research fellow in the Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. On completion of his Ph.D. work there, he joined West Bengal Education Service in 1976, and is at present working as a Reader in zoology in Hooghly Mohsin govt. College, Hooghly, west Bengal. Besides teaching he has been engaged in independent research work on Sarcophagidae and Muscidae of India and the adjacent countries. With more than 58 papers on Sarcophagidae, and 14 papers onIndian Calliphoridae and Muscidae, he is now actively engaged in the research work of the latter. Several scientific societies have made Dr. Nandi their honorary fellow in recognition of his scientific research.
