Environment and Sustainable Development: Indo-Canadian Perspectives

K.R.G. Nair (Author) G S Roonwal (Author) Yamini Gupt (Author)
Synopsis Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development are matters of great concern the world over. Increased environmental awareness and the resultant stringent legislation provide excellent opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs and corporate managers. The two areas from compulsory parts of the educational curriculum are the popular research areas now in almost all disciplines. But, there is a great shortage of reading material coming to the nitty-gritty of these multi-disciplinary issues in an analytical manner that is intelligible to persons from all the related disciplines. This volume is an attempt to fill this gap in the light of the experiences of India and Canada. The contributors include scholars from applied social sciences and applied sciences, policy-makers and representatives from the corporate world, from both India and Canada. Besides an overview of the entire gamut of issues, it discusses in detail some sectoral aspects including forest management and also contains analysis of certain conceptual issues. The book here is hence a must for students pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s courses, research scholars, policy-makers, actual and potential entrepreneurs, corporate managers and general intelligentsia interested in this very topical and important area.
