Synopsis On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters, the author has turned to document how this apex literary organization, in the last fifty years, has shown its commitment to the promotion of good literature and thought through Rabindranath Tagore’s idea of India and Indian literature; impress of his creative and critical writings his perspectives on education, philosophy, religion and politics his profound vision or in one world, the significance of this Universal man even today.  The Akademi has cearelessly nurturing, analyzing and translating both his creative and critical discourses and periodically conducting seminars, exhibition, workshops, literary meets etc. focusing on this all time great Indian literature and seen since mid-twentieth century.
