Synopsis The field of organizational behaviour has reckoned individual performance as its primary dependent variable while there is less direct focus on performance in most of the studies, nearly every research write up attempts to draw some implication for management or for current organizational practices.  These implications are usually couched in performance terms.  Work performance is the degree to which an individual executes his or her role with reference to certain specified standards set by the organization.  Performance is a dependent variable of interest in the study of organizational behaviour because the goals and objectives of the organization are measured in terms of performance or achievement.  Work performance is a fundamentally important construct in organizational practice and research.  It is a complex phenomenon that depends on various factors.  A multidimensional approach is required to study work performance.  An attempt has been made in this book to assess the interrelationship between work performance and some key variables.  This book is divided into five chapters.  The first chapter presents a detailed introduction on the concepts of work performance, turnover intentions, job satisfaction and self-efficacy.  Chapter 2 gives a comprehensive survey of the exiting literature on his subject.  Chapter 3 explains in details the conceptual framework for the research.  Chapter 4 empirically examines the relationship between the work attitudes and work performance.  It also gives the main findings in the end.  Finally, the chapter 5 presents the discussion on the results and the conclusions.  Besides these five chapters, bibliography of the relevant literature is also included in the end.
