Synopsis This book embodies 15 selected articles on various aspects of the general theme, ‘Population, Resources and development’ These are contributed by the geographers, who are experts in their respective field. It is well recognized that population and resources are the two basic factors for development. Therefore, in any in-depth analysis of population and resources and their interaction and influences is essential in order to understand the deep seated problems of d3evelopment in a particular region. Apart from a few conceptual articles included in this volume, most of the other articles are written on the problems of the nature, culture and society of population and problems relating to the availability, exploitation and utilization of various kinds of resources in order to understand the level and disparity of development in the contexts of South Asia, India and North East India.
