Synopsis HRD has assumed prominence as a dynamic and creative. Means to achieve increased productivity and profitability, improved morale, better industrial relations and career development of employees; all eventually leading to achieve overall gals of mega-sized organizations. In the process of HRD expenses as capital expenditure or revenue expenditure, retention of the human resources developed in the HRD process of organizations and resistance shown by the employees against HRD process are being experienced. Like in other organizations, HRD is also widely practiced in Indian banking sector. Moreover, the study covers the relationship between the levels of expectations and the levels of satisfaction as perceived by the employees from various HRD practices and measures. As such, the book will be very much useful to the practicing human resource managers looking after HRD in the banking world, as also to the researchers, policy framers and advance learners in the field of Human resource Management.

Dr. (Ms.)Vinitaa Agrawal holds degrees of B.B.A., M.Com. (B.M.) and Ph.D. She is working as lecturer in Management in Christ College, Rajkot (A Five Star rated College by NAAC)> She has about eight years of teaching experience to her credit in the college education, teaching to degree and Post-Graduate classes in Management. She is actively engaged in research activities and has pres3ented several research papers at national and State level conferences and seminars. Her three research papers were rated very high by the chair-persons of the technical sessions. The titles of the papers are: (1) “Human resource development-Certain Pertinent Challenging Issues”, (2) “Financial services of banks Through Plastic Cards: reflective Claims vs Empirical Findings” and (3) “Application of Financial reengineering in Indian Commercial banking”. She has been a popular young teaching faculty and has delivered lecturers on all the main subject papers of Management Discipline. Her specific areas of interest include subject papers like Human resource management, marketing Management and Production management; besides Managerial economics and Business Environment.
