Synopsis The present compilation of papers, articles, excerpts and profiles attempt to deal with several such crucial issues in the context of China and Japan in Asian Power Politics. The areas of discussion extend to : Development of Chinese Communist foreign policies in Asia; Ideology versus national interest in Chinese foreign policy; development of Sino-Indian relations and the new directions; China-Pakistan complicity and the Republic of Bangladesh; Japan's post-war international relations; Japan's place in the modern world; Indian and Asian economic powers, and the role and contribution of the Philippines in the political character of the Asian continent.
