Synopsis This gazetteer deals with the Kashmir proper. In this report the author dealt with subjects of general interest and has avoided the repetition already presented to the state in the fifteenth assessment reports of Kashmir. Kashmir, has possessed a distinct character, language, dress, body of customs and affords much that is interesting, while its unique history and various administration are worth careful study. The beautiful valley has been source of inspiration for many authors. In this book the author has given the true picture of the valley, the wealth, the character of the people, the system of administration, the flora and fauna, the temples and masjids, the religion and social life of the people, the races and tribes, the occupation and language of the people, the industries and trade as well as the political and physical history of Kashmir. The Study is assigned by some beautiful illustrations and in the end the author believes that the information provided in this book is up to date and would help the reader to have the real picture of Kashmir.
