About the author

G D Bijalwan

Dr. Chakra Dhar Bijalwan, born on 15th October, 1932. He studied Sanskrit through traditional as well as modern methods. He specialized in Vedie, Buddhist and Jaina Nyaya and obtained the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Delhi. He workd for several years in the Commission for Scientific and Technical Dictionaries on Philosophy, Education, Psychology, Literary Critism etc. He worked as Lecturer and Reader (1973-1980) in shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidyapeeth, Allahabad and as principal (1980-1993) in the Guruvayoor, Trichur Distt., Kerala and Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. He has presented about 50 research papers and delivered special lectures in National and International conferences. Dr. ijalwan has a good number of reputed publications to his credit which include Indian Theory of knowledge, Hindu Omens, Bharatiya Nyayasastram, Sanskrit Sukti Samuccaya, Hrdayaprakasa Sarasvatasaurabham, Bhamatvilasah, Development of Yoga and yogic Practices in India (Authorised under a Major Research Project of the University grants Commission. He hask edited a number of books, special volumes, research journals etc. under the auspiees of various literary bodies.
