The major objective of the Consultation was to document and analyze existing partnership initiative for LA-21, examine factors that contribute to successful partner ship between NGOs, CBOs, business enterprises and local governments, consider capacity-building strategies for building successful partnerships, and develop networks among local and regional partners. The consultation was attended by over 150 participants representing a wide cross-section of stakeholders. The most significant and immediate concern that emerged from the consultation was the need for extensive experience-sharing and wide dissemination of best practices in partnerships for sustainable urban development.
